Christmas Lights

On Sunday, we took Jaydon for a drive around the streets of Mandurah to have a look at the houses which had been decorated with Christmas lights. He told us we couldn't go until it got dark. "That means I will be going to bed late". Very cluey. We went up to Meadow Springs and the first house we saw wqas just awesome. I think they had every light possible. Jaydon loved it and even more because the owners were handing out lollypops and he got one. So from then on, he thought every house we went and had a look at would give him lollypop. "I don't think so." Then we went and had a look at the canals opposite where the castle water gardens used to be and the port mandurah canals. Just the first entry. We parked the car in vacant block and went and sat on the jetty's. There were so many people out and about. Those that lived on the canals the boats and people doing the same as us. Jaydon loved it.

Then last night we went and had a look at the same houses on the canals on a boat. Mum and dad's friends who were staying with mum and dad for the week took us out on their boat. AFter dinner, when we told Jaydon we were going to go on the boat, he was so excited. He didn't stop talking and asking questions. SO you can imagine the noises while on the boat. Kaitlyn was exactly the same. She should have been asleep but because of Jayden's excitement, no chance. We all had a lovely night. Then home to bed. I wish my kids would sleep in. 6:15am on the dot. I suppose I shouldn't complain considering it is usually before 6am. Oh well, a great two nights. Another late night tomorrow as well when we go and see the fireworks down on the foreshore. Luckily they have a 9.00pm session. Then no more late nights for a year. Don't have any photo's to show you yet. But when I get them, will post them to show you.

Happy new year to you all. Speak soon

Christmas Time

Hello to you all. MErry Christmas for the other day and happy new year for next week. What a wonderful Christmas day we had. But the excitement for the beginning of christmas day started on Christmas Eve. Jaydon wanted to leave a bucket full of water for the reindeer and a container of carrots. He asked Dave how he would know if the reindeer had been. Quick thinking : the buckets will be knocked over. NExt, We left a glass of milk and two of daddy's favourite biscuits. Originally, jaydon wanted to leave coffee for Santa, but luckily he believed that Santa doesn't like coffee. Then off to bed he went.

JAydon woke up at 6:15 christmas morning. This was a late one for him. And unlucky for me, I woke up at 5:30 and was waiting for him to wake up. I was in the family room feeding Kaitlyn her bottle and heard Jaydon creep into the lounge room, checked his pillow case and then ran into our bedroom and woke Dave up. He was so excited. Then he found me in the family room and came and told me that Santa had been 'cos there were presents in his pillow case and the buckets had been knocked over. So we went outside and had a look. The reindeers had left carrot crumbs and there were 8 sets of footprints and sleigh marks left on the ground (in black paint). It was awesome seeing the look of excitement on his face. Then we proceeded inside to open the presents. Seeing as most of them were for him, he was happy. Kaitlyn had no idea what was going on. But she wanted to climb all over Jaydon's presents. This was one of Jaydon't favourite presents, his click start computer while sitting on Kaitlyn' present. Jaydon played with a few of his presents while Dave and i got the car packed to go to Perth. Then we were on our way for our second Christmas. Hugs all round when we got to Perth. Waited for Aunt Nae to get home then Nanna gave us our sacks. JAydon couldn't believe his eyes. "More presents Nanna". "Can I take these ones home?" He didn't Know which toy to play with first. Then while the rest of us had a prawn lunch, Jaydon had a crepe. Then after lunch Nanna had wrapped presents for us. Jaydon handed out all the presents and was so excited when some of them had his name on them. Then he got more from Aunt Nae, Uncle Mark and uncle Kyle. He said, "This is the best day ever." It makes it so worth while. And still, Kaitlyn had no idea. I got to unwrap her presents with her. In between all the goings on, Jaydon went swimming. He was able to use two of his new presents. A jet ski rider and a kick board.

Then the cousins came over for dinner. Jaydon got to play with his second cousins, Aimee and Josh. Play, dinner (a honey sandwich for Jaydon), cold meat and salads for the rest of us and the presents. "again". "I love Christmas". What 3 year old wouldn't. His night ended at 10pm.

A wonderful day was had by all.

Some new projects

I have finally managed to find a few spare minutes to post a few projects that I have made. Here is a gift I made for a good friend. I bought the tin and then covered it with the "Au Chocolat" designer series double sided paper from the Summer Mini Catalogue. I also made a paper bow to match for the lid.I then made a matching Criss Cross card. But this time the paper bow was smaller. I really enjoyed making this gift and I love how everything matches.
I have also been wanting to post a few photo's of a beautiful gift that was given for Kaitlyn. this was made by Tracey. I have put the K in her bedroom on her shelves. Yet to go on her door. I am using the tin for all her keepsakes with a notepad in it to write down when Kaityln accomplishes things. Then when I get the chance, I write it into her baby book.

These gifts are so beautiful and to be treasured for a long time. Thanks again Tracey.

Also today, we had our first Christmas lunch. We went down to Harvey and had lunch with Dave's parents. It was lovely. We even had christmas pudding with custard for sweets. The best part about it was that Jaydon had pudding for the first time. And those of you who know his eating habits (don't faint), he asked for seconds. After lunch was present giving time. Jaydon was so excited. He got a THomas puzzle and a mug with an eskimo. He played it straigt away. When it was time for us to go home, he asked if he could take his gift home. How precious. Kaitlyn liked the box that her present came in. (surprising!!). Alovely day had by all.
Speak to you all soon.

Latest Photo's

Thought I would take this opportunity to post some recent photo's of the kids tonight. I was reading my girlfriend Tracey's blog tonight and it prompted me to post today. Tracey and Tony our good friends have just recently moved to Kalgoorlie. So Tracey has given me the challenge to post each week. Not sure how I will go, so here is a good start. I am also going to try and post some cards or projects that I make. I actually have some to upload today.

Here is a "Fantasy Box" I made. I got the pattern from Split coast. The first picture is the box finished. 2nd picture is the lid and 3rd picture is the inside of the fantasy box. I stamped the box lid using the wild rose stamp set and I used the matching designer series paper. The lid is made with always artichoke card and the boxes on the inside are made with bravo burgundy card. At the moment my box is being used for my brads, eyelets and little odds and sodds. I love it.

As the end of the year approaches us in full swing, my family are preparing for Jaydon to go to kindy next year, and for me to go back to work. We have been to the kindy meeting and a few weeks ago we went and bought his school uniform. We tried it all on when we got home and Jaydon looked so cute. He was so proud of himself. He went and had a look in the full length mirror to see what he thought. "Pretty good" was the comment. He is growing up way too fast. Jaydon will be 4 in January. Time flys. Jaydon is also looking forward to buying his school back pack and lunch box. Might wait for the after christmas sales.
This photo was taken two days ago by my sister Danae. Commonly referred to by Jaydon as "Aunt Nae". Danae takes the best photo's of Jaydon and Kaitlyn. Will share some more soon.
Made some more stamping creations. Once photo's have been taken, will share them with you. Speak soon. Shauna

I haven't posted for a while as things have been rather hectic, but I do have a few creations to show you that I have worked on. This is a baby tin that I made for a friend's daughter. The little notepad goes in the tin so mum and dad can write down everything that baby does as they get older. The insects and flowers are from the "Gossimer Wings" nursery set. Kaitlyn has the same set in her room. It is adorable.

This is another card I made recently. This is the most recent wheel I have purchased, so I thought I would have a go with it. The colours I used were bravo burgundy, and mellow moss with a little white. I just recently purchased the oval punches and they fit beautifully with the words.

Yay! We got the mini catalogue yesterday. I love looking through these and deciding on which sets of stamps or paper I will get first. I am going to put in my order early this time so that I can make some samples for my customers. Once this is done, will post some pictures of the cards that I made. I am really looking forward to it as I haven't made any cards for a while and this will hopefully give me some more inspiration. But in the meantime, some great news about my little girl. She started to crawl today. 2 crawls forward. Slowly but surely. She moves around all the time, just not crawling. Here is a recent photo of her getting herself into an awkward situation.

Yay! I've finally made it to my first post. My girlfriend Tracey in Busselton has encouraged me to start my blog so that we can share photo's of our children and our stamping and scrapbooking creations. We don't often get to catch up, so this will be handy. Well that's the idea anyway. My aim is to add something at least once a week. If I get the chance to do more, then that will be great.

My mum and I went for a drive down to Busselton last week with the kids to see Tracey and her mum at the shop. We spent 5 hours browsing at paper, embellishments, embossing machines, scrapbook pages and everything else that you could imagine. Not to mention all the talking that went on. We also purchased quite a bit as well. Spending the day in the shop filled me with so much inspiration, it was so exciting. But as luck would have it, I have been unable to transfer any of my ideas onto paper as I have spent most of my time cleaning up my stamping room. Oh well.

I do have something I want to share though. -My neighbour came across the other day and showed me a poem that she wanted decorated for her good friend to go with a gift that matched. This is what I came up with. I wrote the poem and stamped on whisper white card. The backing is bravo burgundy. The stamp set is "Wild Roses". I stamped the bud in Bravo burgundy and the leaf in mellow moss. The buds have also got a little sparkle. A bit hard to see in the photo. I added a little bit of dazzling diamonds. Then to finish off I tied some organdy ribbon with a tag. There we go. Luckily my neighbour loved it, and asked me to do some more.
